Former New York City PR boy turned eco fashion designer takes on music star to promote his advocacy.


September 6, 2018 (New York City, NY) -​ Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears strutted a show-stopping, sustainable prairie dress in his self-titled world tour which recently concluded in the UK. The statement piece, worn during the song “Creep City” and garnered some shock and awe from the audience, is made of upcycled japanese cotton fabric, french lace trims and other recycled materials from the atelier of international designer Joseph Aloysius Montelibano.

After having presented in London (2015), New York (2016) and India (2017), the designer’s social enterprise, Aloysius Worldwide, is launching an international volunteer program this November together with the OJU Welfare Association Mission School in Northeast India to inspire and engage a community of destitute women in that area that are taught livelihood skills such as weaving, sewing and cosmetology. These sustainable fashion creations weaved and sewn by the hands of these women under the direction of Aloysius will be showcased in major cities around the world.
